About El Salvador
El Salvador, located in Central America, is the smallest and most densely populated country in the
region. Situated between Guatemala to the west and Honduras to the north and east, it also has a
coastline along the Pacific Ocean to the south. Covering an area of approximately 21,041 square
kilometers (8,124 square miles), El Salvador is roughly the size of the state of Massachusetts in
the United States.
The geography of El Salvador is characterized by a varied terrain, including rugged mountains,
volcanic peaks, fertile valleys, and coastal plains. The country is part of the Ring of Fire, a
region known for its seismic and volcanic activity. Notably, there are over 20 volcanoes in El
Salvador, with some of the most prominent ones being the Santa Ana, Izalco, and San Miguel
volcanoes.
The central region of El Salvador consists of a series of volcanic mountain ranges running
parallel to the Pacific coast, with peaks reaching heights of over 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) above
sea level. These volcanic formations contribute to the country's fertile soil, supporting
agriculture as a key sector of the economy.
To the north and east of the volcanic highlands lie the Lempa River valley and coastal plains,
where much of the population is concentrated. The Pacific coastline of El Salvador offers sandy
beaches and opportunities for tourism and recreation.
Overall, El Salvador's geography plays a significant role in shaping its culture, economy, and
society, with its volcanic landscapes and coastal plains contributing to both challenges and

To promote bilateral trade between India and El Salvador To boost businesses of all the sectors, particularly MSMEs, and create business opportunities To promote businesses of all sizes across the two countries Establish business to business and people to people contact Create tie-ups amongst chambers of commerce and have businesspeople as part of this council.
Cultural Council
To promote cultures and exchange ideas and values through this council Facilitate cultural exchanges in the form of music, dance, history, artifacts, exhibitions, expos and even through online mediums Create opportunities for student exchanges, training and courses to promote cultural relations between India and El Salvador To promote artists through shows, exhibitions, etc. either in person or through online mediums.
